Since tis the season for many to make resolutions, here are some ideas to help you actually meet your goals (what a resolution is really) and to help keep you on track.
Write It Or All Of Your New Year Resolutions Down
Resolutions are really new goals and like any goal they should be written down. It’s important that you read them on a daily basis, at least 3 times a day but at least first thing every morning. According to the website www.mindtools.com, writing down goals is one of the best ways to accomplish them. Whatever your morning routine, be sure that it now includes reading your New Year Resolutions first thing every morning. Make it a habit while having breakfast or your morning coffee. Put them on a pasty and stick it to the mirror in your bathroom or on your refrigerator door. You can even put them on your phone and then set an alarm a few times a day with a note “read your New Year Resolutions (or simply put goals) as a reminder.
Set Realistic Resolutions And Let People Know
According to a study done by Dr. Richard Wiseman, of the 3000 people he used in 2007 to see if they followed through on their New Year resolutions, only 12% succeeded. The biggest problem for people succeeding he found was there relying to heavily on willpower. The ones he found to be successful he found picked one resolution that they had thought about for a while. They didn’t focus on the past resolutions they had failed, they stayed in the present and focused on their new resolution(s). They told friends and family about what there goal was, in todays environment, don’t be afraid to share on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Perhaps the most important thing of all is they never beat themselves up if they had failures along the way!
