Healthy Chinese Food Recipes That Taste Great
One of the great myths about trying to lose weight or staying in shape is you have to eat foods you do not like. I love Chinese food so I took some old recipes and made them healthy Chinese food recipes. Now they are healthy and still very tasty.
ALMOND CHICKEN
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast.
1/3 Slivered almonds
5 slices fresh ginger root (fresh tastes better but you can use bottled)
3 green onions, chopped to about 1″ lengths
1 green pepper, chopped as above
1/2 cup diced fresh bamboo shoots
1 cup olive or coconut oil
~~Marinade~~
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp white pepper
1 tsp Almond Flour
1 Tbsp Coconut Aminos
1 egg white
~~Seasoning sauce~~
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
2 Tbsp coconut aminos
1 Tbsp dry sherry
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp organic Stevia
1/2 tsp Almond Flour
Cut chicken into 1” cubes. Combine marinade ingredients, add chicken and mix well. Let stand 1/2 hour.
Heat oil in wok, add chicken and stir-fry until browned. Remove chicken and drain well. Stir-fry ginger, onion, pepper and bamboo shoots for about 1 minute until vegetables are crisp-tender. Combine ingrediants for seasoning sauce in a small bowl, mix well and add to wok. bring to boil. Add chicken to boiling sauce. Stir-fry chicken until coated with sauce. Add almonds, mix well and serve hot. Serves 4
BARBECUED LAMB ON SKEWERS
2 lb Stewing Lamb, cut in 1 1/4″ cubes
1/2 tsp Cayenne and
4 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp Salt
3 Cloves Garlic, minced
1 organic Stevia
1 tbsp Hot Chili oil (or 1 tbsp Salad oil)
Combine all ingredients and marinate Lamb cubes for 2 hours in covered bowl. Drain Lamb, reserving marinade for basting during barbecuing. Skewer Lamb; you should have enough for two skewers per serving. Barbecue until browned, but still juicy. Overcooking
will dull flavors. Serve with nang (Moslem Bread) or shao bing (baked sesame rolls).
BEEF CHOW MEIN
3/4 lb Round steak
1 Tbsp Coconut Aminos
1 tsp Salt
1 organic Stevia
8 Fresh mushrooms (optional)
1/2 lb Bean sprouts
6 oz Fresh Bamboo shoots
3 ea Green onions (scallions)
2 cup Beef stock
2 Tbsp Almond Flour
1 tsp Sesame oil
2 cups spaghetti squash
Coconut or Olive Oil for deep frying (Healthy Chinese food recipes deep fried? Yep!)
Cut beef about 1” long 1⁄2” wide and as thin as possible. Mix the salt, sugar and soy sauce together and mix well, then add the beef and marinate for at least one hour.
Wash and slice the mushrooms, including stems. Slice the bamboo into thin strips; slice the scallions into 1” pieces; soak, rinse and drain the bean sprouts.
In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch and beef stock together.
Drain the beef reserving the marinade. Heat the sesame oil and stir-fry the beef for 4 to 5 minutes. Add the cornstarch mixture and remaining marinade, bring to a boil stirring constantly; add the vegetables and simmer for 5 minutes longer.
Cook noodles in boiling water for 4 to 5 minutes; drain thoroughly. Deep fry as needed draining on absorbent paper. Place cooked noodles on a plate or serving platter, top with beef mixture.
