Back Exercises For A Strong And Healthy Back

January 11, 2016 by Rob Denny Leave a Comment

Back Exercises Used To Reinforce Your Back

back exercisesThe National Institute of Health has estimated that 4 out of 5 Americans suffer from pain in the back at some time. This is why it’s important to do different back exercises to strengthen your muscles. Neck and back pain afflicts a person suddenly and without offering any previous symptoms. When affected, one needs to use their body’s own recovery capability to deal with the discomfort, instead of preferring medicines, and strengthen their body through back exercises. Many resort to natural relief through acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic and osteopathic care. I will be doing a two part series here with stretching and exercises you can use to strengthen your back. All of the workouts in this first article are bodyweight meaning you can do them anywhere.

Beginners Leg Workout – To Build Your Foundation

December 6, 2015 by Rob Denny 7 Comments

Time To Start Building Your Foundation – Beginners Leg Workout

beginners leg workoutRegardless of your sport or fitness goals, you need a solid base, a strong foundation, and that means leg training! This is the first of 3 posts I will do – a beginners, intermediate and advanced leg workouts. This beginners leg workout will start you on what you need – to hit those quads, hamstrings, glutes and calf muscles hard.

Many men new to strength or weight training focus on upper body exercises like bench presses, curls, shoulder presses etc… They completely neglect leg training. Women new to training tend to focus on weight loss and aerobic activities also avoiding direct leg training. In both cases, this lack of leg training leads to imbalances. To build a balanced, strong and stable physique that also prevents injury, you must train your legs. And ladies, if you truly want to slim down, tone up and burn fat, training legs is the way to go.

Rotator Cuff Injuries – Know What Your Body Is Telling You

rotator cuffWriting this now I am just coming out of another rotator cuff battle. It started about 7 weeks ago and was the first one I’ve had in about 5 years. I was unable to lift weights for 5 weeks, I haven’t been on a tennis court since it started. My best guesstimate is it will be another two weeks before I get back on the court. It’s pretty common knowledge that as we get older there will be bumps in the road whether it’s our personal life or physical life, are inevitable.  Calve pulls, rotator cuff injuries, shoulders, knees, biceps, triceps – seems like something will always pop up along the way. I’m not saying working out will cause all of these, in fact the only one I’ve had has been my rotator cuff. I have no doubt that pushing your body to it’s limits is good for it, within reason. 30 Minute Fat Burning Workout For Busy People

fat Burning spartacusThis is a form of the fat burning Spartacus workout created by  Rachel Cosgrove, (people have told me I’m crazy to send you to another website but if you find something you like better, I’m good) owner of Results Fitness in Santa Clarita, California. That’s right—designed by a woman and it will literally kick your butt. Plus get you in amazing shape! Here’s the concept – it’s a full body fat burning workout of 10 exercises. The goal is to be able to perform 3 complete “rounds” of 10 exercises.  Again, this is a fat burning machine! Here’s my Spartacus workout but you can do any exercise you want-

Testosterone Optimization Through Strategic Dieting

testosterone optimizationWhile it typically goes without saying, testosterone levels are an important factor in many areas of good health.
