Drop Sets For Serious Muscle GrowthIf you’ve been following my blog you know I am a big proponent of switching up your routines. Using drop sets for serious muscle growth is a great way to switch things up. These things are crucial to do for your body to constantly be challenged. Over the years I’ve experimented with what seems like literally hundreds of high intensity training methods. Everything from supersets, giant sets, continuous tension, negatives, partials, contraction, 8 sets of 8, 6 sets of countdowns from 12 to 2, 5 sets of 5, and 21’s come right off the top of my head. I do all this not just because it’s fun to mix my workout up but more importantly so I don’t plateau. Drop sets for serious muscle growth are not easy but they work and anyone can do them. Beginner or experienced body builder, these work for all types and will be intense for anyone no matter the level.

It’s That Time Of Year Again – New Year Resolutions Abound!

For many, this means making New Year resolutions that can range from getting in shape, controlling finances, falling in love, getting in touch with an old friend, the list is endless. Everyone is always excited about the beginning of the new year because that’s what it means – a new beginning – right? Well not really. Not to get all bah humbug but really it is just the start of another month. You can decide to make a positive change in your life anytime of the year. The bottom line is, whether it’s now or in June, the only way for the change to happen is to follow through on your end. Focus More On Diet Or Exercise?

Diet or exerciseEveryone knows in a perfect world a combination of a balanced diet with exercise is ideal for not just wait loss but muscle gain and overall wellness.  Should you focus more on diet or exercise? If you follow nutrition guidelines  like not piling on platefuls of food, lean proteins, fruits etc… and mix in regular doses of aerobic activity and resistance training, your sure to optimize your health. Most people battle everyday in their head weather they should diet or exercise. They have a full plate of food in front of them and know they shouldn’t eat it all but then think “well I’ll exercise it off later”. Then they get busy and do not have time to exercise which leads to punishing yourself which is the worst thing you can do about anything, not just diet or exercise. Maybe you have a different goal like getting from a 36 inch waist to a 34 or staving off diabetes.  Sometimes focusing on one over the other will give you better, faster results.
